GREAT HORWOOD 4 TATTENHOE ORANGES 8
5th December
Scorer Justin Chapman 1 Ted Walton 3
Ted Walton played exceedingly well scoring 3 goals with Justin Chapman scoring 1. There was support from all the players. Unfortunately, some of the counter attacks made by Tattenhoe left our defence lacking and our goalie totally exposed.
However, we fought back in the 2nd half with 2 attempts hitting the goal post. Hence, the defeat was not as bad as the result indicated.

Match Report
Due to illness we were not match fit today with 2 players off ill and others recovering from colds.
Ted Walton was with the action all the time and made many attmpts at the goal and sadly was thwarted by Samba Rio's very good defence. Sadly, our defence was not so robust today with energy levels being low and our inablility to return to support the goalie when Samba Rio made some impressive breaks from the half way mark. Nevertheless, there were credible performances put in Max who made a superb break that went almost the full length of the pitch, some good saves by Theo when he was in goal. As always, Joe played a steady dependable game. Callum did some good defending and made a couple of breaks. Georgie and Evie showed they could take on the opposition and Oliver got our only goal. The game was in fact much more equal than appears from the score.

GREAT HORWOOD 6 BROOKFIELD RANGERS BUZZARDS 2
3rd October 2009
Scorers Justin Chapman 3 Oliver Moyles 2 Ted Walton 1
The match started like a bolt of lightning with Justin Chapman scoring within the fist 2 minutes followed quickly by a second which put GH Ravens in a commanding position. In contrast to last week, we had a more equally matched opponent who had excellent defence and an excellent goalkeeper. What was so encouraging every GH Ravens played to their strengths with strikers getting goals, and defenders fulfilling their role very competently. All players ended the game knowing they had played well and experienced their first ever win which must now prove what all the supporters know - we have a potentially good team that will improve as the season goes on and the benefits of training are seen.

BROOKFIELD RANGERS HERONS vs GREAT HORWOOD
26th September 2009
Although we were beaten by a far superior side, GH Ravens put up a very credible performance allowing everyone in our 10 man squad to savour a league game. There were flashes of brilliance which included a header by Callum Nelsen that was from the Premier League. However, when we did get into the opposition's half we failed to retain control of the situation which invariably led to a very strong counter attack by the opposition. Our defenders played very well, but faced a formidable opposition who seized the opportunity to score from any mistake we made. We rotated everyone into different positions and what is clear the goalie must use his hands more than his feet to save goals, and strikers must learn to pass to ensure momentum is maintained. We have the makings of a very good village team, and every GHFC supporter could see the immense strides every player has made in the last year.

GREAT HORWOOD vs Tattenhoe Youth Greens
The result against Tattenhoe was 5 - 1 to Tattenhoe with Oliver Moyles scoring the only goal for GHFC. Justin Chapman played exceedingly well up front and in goal. Although we lost the first game, we have the makings of a good side. Every player showed improvement from last year.
